Your Opportunity
Stantec is seeking a highly motivated, ambitious, transportation engineer to work with our team in our Laurel Maryland office. The position will offer the opportunity to work on small and large roadway, trail and transit projects, in urban and rural settings, that are located in Maryland as well as other areas of the Mid-Atlantic region.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Perform Roadway or Trail and Drainage design for a variety of clients and project scope
- Utilize Microstation to assist team in preparation of plans and construction documents
- Utilize Inroads, Geopak or OpenRoads highway design software
- Perform Field Work to gather data on existing conditions
- Compute quantity and construction cost estimates
- Work in a group setting to support other disciplines
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Basic knowledge of AASHTO Geometric Design of Highways and Streets
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Good oral and written communication skills
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering
- Relevant transportation engineering experience: 2+ years
- Certified EIT or FE
Typical office environment working with computers. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
