Your Opportunity
Stantec is searching for superior candidates with at least fifteen years experience as a Landscape Architect to assist with stream restoration work. Qualified candidates should possess a degree in Landscape Architecture and have experience with assessing and designing stream restoration projects using Natural Channel Design techniques. Duties entail working on naturalized habitats, greenways, urban waterways, wetlands, grasslands, and uplands in an interdisciplinary team environment.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting and coordinating the technical aspects of assigned projects.
- Collaborate with and advise other team members while working on projects.
- Responsible for preparing plans and reports, writing proposals, budget monitoring and trend tracking.
- Responsible for completing tasks and delegating specific project tasks to other team members as appropriate.
- Ensures effective communication and coordination on projects between other project participants, including planners, architects, engineers, developers, contractors, and clients.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Candidates should have a working knowledge of landscape architecture, hydrology, stormwater management, water quality issues, and ecology as well experience in wetland delineation/mitigation design.
- The successful applicant should be familiar with the permitting process and environmental regulations.
- Rosgen training and familiarity with the RIVERMorph software is a major plus for this position.
- Outstanding technical skills and ability to oversee multiple projects.
- Technical expert in all relevant areas of design and various design methods.
- Possesses excellent time management skills. Thorough understanding of task assignment and schedule, budgeting, and efficient use of time and resources.
- Effective communicator and able to lead teams.
- Thorough understanding of codes, legal and design requirements in relevant jurisdictions.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD degree or equivalent in Landscape Architecture or related field & Licensed by state/province in Landscape Architecture or equivalent Licensure. Minimum of 15 years of related project or teaching experience.
Position will work in both a field and office setting. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. Must be available to travel for out of town projects when needed.
