Your Opportunity
The Project Manager acts as an extension of the client’s staff to administer design contracts including monitoring the cost, schedule, and quality of the designer’s work, as well as to establish that the design work is completed in conformance with the requirements of the scope of work. The Project Manager can direct the design consultant within the specified authority limitations. The position is a field position located in the project office in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Your Key Responsibilities
- The Project Manager will oversee the design consultant to verify that the designer is conforming to the scope of work, quality, schedule, and compliance with governmental regulations.
- The Project Manager coordinates with the technical representatives on the project team, the client, as well as third-party stakeholders.
- Facilitate reviews of design submittals.
- Regular progress meetings with the designer, the client, and when necessary, other stakeholders and parties as required.
- Hosting regular meetings with the client staff to review project issues.
- Coordinating with and providing cost and progress data to support the timely creation and distribution of progress reports.
- Providing oversight of and confirming contract compliance for contract activities.
- Facilitate responses for requests for information from the designer.
- Assisting the designer in facilitating the required contract workshops and conferences.
- Maintaining a record of decisions, conversations, and directions through appropriate means of a diary, report, notebook, emails, telephone logs, etc.
- Coordinating with project environmental representatives as needed.
- Supervising personnel who may be assigned to the project.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Knowledgeable of Federal, State and Local codes.
- Proficient team leadership of multi-disciplined utilities infrastructure construction. Technically proficient in all relevant areas of design and construction and understanding of various methods.
- Experience and knowledge of managing design and construction for major public works projects.
- Proficient knowledge of design, site development, and all types of public works infrastructure design and construction.
- Highly effective in building and maintaining client relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be committed to zero safety incidents.
- Experience and knowledge of various estimating and project management software.
- Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite.
- Good driving record and valid driver’s license required.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
- Hawaii PE preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
- Minimum of 10 years of construction experience in the field focused on civil works infrastructure projects.
Typical office environment working with computers at a desk for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
