Stantec is seeking a full-time entry level Laboratory Technician to assist with all aspects of operations associated with our Geotechnical group located in Lexington, Kentucky and Cincinnati, Ohio.
Your Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Testing of soils, concrete, rock and construction materials.
- Interact with Client Representatives, Contractors, and Geotechnical Engineers.
- Operate computerized and digital testing equipment.
- Review data calculations.
- Perform equipment calibration and quality control.
- This position will require travel roughly 5% of the year.
- Other duties as assigned by the Laboratory Manager.
Your Capabilities and Credentials:
- Interested candidates should have (or have the ability to obtain) certifications related to the position (ACI, Troxler, NICET etc.).
- A valid driver's license and good driving record are required.
- Experience with ASTM standards.
- A pre-employment drug screen may be required.
- Proficient with desktop office software applications (word processor, spreadsheets, etc.).

- Ability to work with a team on large complex project.
- Able to work under and meet tight deadlines.
- Working understanding of policies and procedures for Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) protection, including client-specific training (as required).
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent, Bachelor of Science in related field preferred.
- Experience with laboratory operations is a plus.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Fieldwork may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. Ability to lift and move items and equipment up to 50 lbs.
