Your Opportunity

Stantec is seeking an exceptionally talented and enthusiastic individual with a keen interest in managing natural resource assessment and permitting projects for our clients in the renewable energy, pipeline, transportation, and other business sectors. Our Environmental Services group is dedicated to managing environmental issues professionally and proactively. Our team members are involved in a variety of projects that may include endangered species assessments, habitat restoration, wetland delineation and mitigation, and complex planning and permitting for a variety of industries. The qualified candidate would be expected to lead field teams, reporting, and permit application preparation for projects across the Gulf Coast.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in growing our environmental services program in the Gulf Coast Region.
  • Provide technical leadership and task management on a wide variety of environmental planning and permitting projects for energy, government, and/or private sector clients.
  • Manage permit applications and agency coordination related to Endangered Species Act, Section 404 of the Clean Water Act, Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act, Coastal Zone Management Act, and Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act.
  • Coordinate technical documents and provide review of technical documents that support regulatory submissions.
  • Task and project management responsibilities include developing proposals; managing projects and budgets; coordinating with clients, stakeholders, and internal project staff; and performing and overseeing project technical work.
  • Support and ensure implementation of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Policies, Procedures, Standards and Guidelines in the execution of all work and coordinate with HSE professionals during the execution of all phases of project planning and implementation.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

A minimum of five years’ experience executing natural resource assessment and permitting projects and demonstrated experience with local, state, and federal environmental regulations and permitting along the Gulf Coast. Louisiana experience strongly desired.

  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and to prioritize and balance sometimes heavy workloads to achieve goals while keeping up with a highly mobile and changing environment.
  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills, and be customer focused to understand and appropriately respond to client’s business needs.
  • Must have ability and desire to travel for project work activities (up to 25% travel).
  • Project and task management experience with strong attention to detail.
  • Good driving record and valid driver’s license required.

 

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s or higher (preferred) in Environmental Sciences, or related field with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

Typical office environment working with computers. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. Ability to lift and move items and equipment up to 50 lbs.
