Your Opportunity
As an Environmental Engineer you will work with close guidance and supervision on tasks and smaller projects, and as a team member of a larger project under the guidance of a senior engineer/designer. You will participate in the evaluation, recommendation, and specification of engineering principles to select the best plan involving the collaboration with multiple stakeholders and expertise within the company. You will assist in verifying compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards/practices.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Works with other engineering disciplines and professionals in the coordination of the project under the direction of a senior engineer/designer.
- Reviews data and writes report; develop and implement work plans
- Assist with design work on soil and ground water remediation and environmental compliance projects
- Performs field work as directed by a senior engineer/ designer.
- Assists with basic engineering duties on projects of various complexity.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the senior engineering staff.
- Providing environmental monitoring services on projects
- Assist with onsite construction observation, contractor coordination, and daily inspection reports.
- Assist with the review of contractor submittals, respond to Requests for Information (RFIs), and as-built survey review.
- Able to liaise between clients, contractors, regulatory officials and third parties on-site.
- Working understanding of policies and procedures for HSSE, including client-specific training (as required).
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Basic understanding of all phases of engineering document production.
- Knowledge of technical specifications and bid documents
- Recognizes when technical problems are developing and initiates appropriate corrective actions.
- Ability to check own work for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and schedule.
- Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought.
- Ability to perform construction observation and coordinate with Contractors.
- Ability to communicate in a professional and positive manner, both in writing and in person, with clients, employees and visitors.
- Excellent communication and writing skills
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Civil, Chemical, Environmental, Water Resources and EIT; Minimum of 0-5 years of experience. Working toward licensure.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
