Your Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Bilingual Consultant, Global Talent Mobility to join our team!
Your Key Responsibilities
Relocation, Assignments and Business Travelers
- Support specific Business Lines and Quebec within Stantec to facilitate relocation, immigration, and expatriate tax services
- Support International Business Travelers for all Business Lines: Assess visa requirements, ensure they have travel reference letters, coordinate immigration paperwork if needed, etc.
- Work closely with the HR community and provides consultative guidance with respect to crafting assignment packages & required costing, driving awareness of mobility opportunities, and facilitating all elements of the assignment process for the mobility assignee
- Act as the main point of contact for mobility contacts
- Ensure compliance and consistency across continents and to contribute to the development of the Global Mobility function
- Manage relationship with immigration, tax, and relocation partner to ensure expected level of services are offered
- Advise and oversee the coordination of all international business trips, assignments, transfers, and Global Talent Mobility related aspects of international hires
- Coordinate the preparation of assignment cost projections in partnership with Stantec’s tax partner
- Partner closely with tax and relocation partner on the strategy and details for all cases and associated employer-sponsored relocations/assignments
- Ensure communication is maintained with employees, and relevant stakeholders throughout the assignment life cycle
- Communicate with relevant HR Clients about all international mobility issues
- Partner with Payroll, Finance and Accounting departments to ensure effective administration of all assignment or transfers involving payroll, tax, expenses, etc.
- Ensure appropriate records, files and databases are maintained. Effectively manages employee repatriation and ensures expeditious home country assimilation
- Provide regular status reports on Global Talent Mobility activities within assigned Region, Global Talent Mobility and Regional HR Managers; escalates issues, as required. Compiles reporting on relevant metrics. Attends meetings, as needed
Immigration
- Manage all immigration cases in Canada as the main point of contact for Canada immigration – Work Authorization and Permanent Residency
- Analyze different scenarios situations and providing a fresh perspective with the most suitable solutions for each Canadian immigration case, also interacting with local authorities, consulates, business travelers and an external immigration partner when needed
- Vendor management of Stantec’s external immigration partner in Canada to ensure efficiencies
- Partner with Talent Acquisition, HR and Managers candidate and staff hires and internal transfers, including international hires
- Provide group information sessions on Canada immigration requirements and processes on an ad hoc basis
- Partner with immigration vendor and Stantec US immigration team to determine best immigration strategy for cases that require support (US/CA permanent relocations and US/CA temporary assignments)
- Review documentation and visa applications prior to submission to immigration authorities
- Coordinate processes and draft documents to render immigration services (Inbound and Outbound) working on all phases of clients’ allocation cycle (from planning to local registration in the destination country), including new requests, extensions, cancellations and tracking of documents expiration
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Process driven, with excellent attention to detail, organizational and time-management skills
- Proven technical ability over a broad range of immigration matters and visa subclasses, preferably in a high-volume environment
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
- Exceptional communication skills
- Ability to balance priorities, meet deadlines and manage time
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work and exercise initiative to ensure an efficient and quality level of service
- Flexibility with an ability to work in a busy and dynamic team environment
- Proven ability to apply attention to detail, research, and gain knowledge quickly
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and communication skills
- Ability to proactively resolve issues and improve processes
- Strong working knowledge of MS Suite including Visio, HRIS software
- Able to deal with ambiguity and balance priorities and effectively manage change in fast paced environment
Education and Experience
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience, including experience with U.S. and Canada (Quebec) immigration
- Bilingual in French
