Your Opportunity

You will be working for a Top 10 global design firm in Commercial and Industrial Buildings practice that provides integrated Architecture, Buildings Engineering, and Interior Design services with a long history and deep commitment to the commercial sector.

 

We strive for design excellence and total integration among all design disciplines. As project manager of a of a multi-discipline team, you will have a unique opportunity to help create a collaborative and creative environment, and to assist clients through the planning and creation of fiscally responsible, inspiring designs. You will help the team to excel in both design solutions and in project delivery, while applying Stantec Design Excellence Framework and Project Management Framework. You will lead the development of integrated design proposals, develop and manage integrated work plans, manage project financials, and coordinate with clients, while leading and mentoring others and collaborating with team members to contribute to the final deliverables as required under instruction from the Project Leader.

 

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Advocate for integrated design excellence to the highest possible level.
  • Assure that the Design Excellence Framework tasks are timely completed and properly documented by the team
  • Promote the firm’s vision to strengthen resiliency of community and preserve sustainability of our planet. 
  • Responsible for assisting with complex tasks on medium to large size projects.
  • Assist with planning, organizing, and directing the work throughout the life of the project to successfully deliver the project to the client.
  • Keep the Sr. Project Manager informed of progress on project expectations, deadlines, and deliverables and understand the limits of the decision-making responsibilities of the role and respect the boundaries of the Principal in Charge’s responsibilities.
  • Assist the Sr. Project Manager and the client and project team to ensure that the project design meets the client budget, schedule, program, and design intent.
  • Assist in the negotiation and development of project agreements.
  • Assist with managing the project budget, schedule, and overall work plan to realize target financial performance.
  • Mentor Assistant Project Managers and motivate project teams.
  • Assure that Project Management Framework tasks are timely completed and properly documented.
  • Assist with project coordination and owner/site meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor and sub-contractors.
  • Manage and track change orders, applications for payment by contractors and other contractual modifications impacting budget and schedule.

 

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Capable of simultaneously supporting one or more Principal’s in Charge/Sr. Project Manager on multiple projects.
  • Understanding of accessibility codes, life-safety codes, building construction systems, means and methods, materials, and industry associated standards.
  • Ability to create and manage project schedules.
  • Ability to receive direction and proactively take appropriate action without requiring continued instruction.
  • Ability to effectively manages multiple deadlines and priorities.
  • Ability to be team player with the client, entire project team and project partners.
  • Ability to effectively communicate.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Newforma; Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp preferred

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field
  • Working toward Licensure -- Professional Registration a plus, but not required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience
  • LEED Green Associate or LEED AP a plus

 

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
